Romantic Hideaways

There is something in the air; a quick swift, a hastily breeze, an unexpected touch.
Rays of sunshine, brighter than ever before and a sky magnificently in its own simplicity.
Moments spent together with someone special. Moments, which are eternally engrained in our mind. A feeling that makes us feel like we never felt before. The big emotion called LOVE. It is time to take your loved one out for a treat.
 Valentine’s Day is coming up!

The American Hotel in Sag Harbor.

Far yet close from Manhattans bustling streets out in Sag Harbor you find the American Hotel. Built in 1846 in the height of the Whaling era, the eternal hotel is a sanctuary for literary people, celebrities and us deadly in the quest for a pleasurable location that breathes style and tranquillity. With Empire and early Victorian furnishings, an anteroom and four small dining rooms you get an intimate feel, and the service and ambience are both traditional and top notch.
Enjoy a cocktail on the veranda whilst watching people on the Main Street of Sag Harbor. Try out their dishes with an American twist on French cuisine with quality ingredients that shine with the kitchens simply prepared, cleanly executed meals.
This is a true pearl just like the story goes with a local artist who ordered oysters and bit into a pearl.

Pensão Amor in Lisbon.

Lost in love in the city of seven hills: Lisbon. Blasting white marble and a beauty that will put tears in your eyes. A lonely fado song just for you in the narrow alleys with cobble stones and yellow light that bring out the shadow of the past. This city is the city for love but also for sadness. Pensão Amor is located in a typical Portuguese 18th century building in the former red light district near river Tagus. Once a cheap pension that rented out rooms by the hour to prostitutes for a moment of passion with their clients. Nowadays a home to arty evenings, DJ’s playing lounge music, visitors sipping cocktails and an erotic bookshop. With its chandelier, rich mural painting, heavy drapes, naked cherubs, kissing booths, and old posters from peep and burlesque shows this place is naughty and teasing. A great place for seduction of all kinds.

Harbour House in Kalk Bay, South Africa.

On the road from Stellenbosch going towards Cape of Good Hope along the coastline lies Kalk Bay with its picturesque old world charm. Here in the harbour you find the restaurant Harbour House built on the rocky shore with the waves crashing against the wall. The views of the ocean is breath taking, and you can watch the seagulls play in search of food as well as humpbacks coming in to the bay to calf. The restaurant offers a true relaxation for mind and spirit and the fresh seafood is divine. Ask for the table on the veranda and you have one lucky partner that will have an unforgettable time.
Chez Janou in Marais, Paris.
The most over the top of romantic cities in the world is my beloved Paris.
With its Tour Eiffel, romantic walks along the Seine, picnic in Jardin de Tuileries, winding streets lined with small cafés, Montmartre et cetera, the list goes on and on forever. The one and only favourite bistro restaurant Chez Janou never disappoints.
In the springtime you enjoy the Parisian chic vibe on the tables on the street with wine branches growing a roof of lush green whilst sipping a great red or rosé wine.
The food has its root in Provencal with the classic ratatouille, grilled lamb and chevre to die for. Chez Janou is more than a bistro; it’s a theatre with its diverse clientele, its cosiness, its busyness and lovely little corner of Paris.
